Economics concerns the study of income, wealth and well-being and the design of economic Policy. The teaching  of Economics provides understanding of the enormous range of economic Issues that are Confronted by business, industry, financial institutions, governments and individuals every day. Industry and society and the measurement of economic trends its causes and effects are the major areas that are being focused on our students enjoy a high rate of employment in a diverse range of careers and specialized knowledge and business, finance money, government policy and the global economy. The students are made to interpret and apply statistical and other evidence about the economic consequences industrial, political, social and environmental change. They also learn how to construct and apply models of markets, organizations and the whole economy and how to evaluate their use in practice.

At least 50% marks at under-graduate level. The admission will be made purely on merit basis.

This course is designed to provide an education in economic analysis, policy and quantitative methods, as applied to problems of agriculture, industry, banking and trade etc. The contents of the students to acquire a broader understanding of the issues in growth and development, money and banking and agriculture and industry. The programme develops the student’s ability to understand and apply economic principles and to analyse economic problems for the betterment of the society. The basic objective of this programme to enhance the skill of the students necessary for employment. The course shall be spread over three academic years (B.A. Hons, part-I, II and III) and each part shall consists of two semesters.

Eligibility Criteria:

The admission is open to a person who passed the Senior Secondary Examination ( 10+2) with at least 50% marks. For B.A.Hons. Economics II (Semester III and IV) The candidate must have passed atleast 50% of the total papers in B.A. Hons. I (semester I and 11).

ਬੀ.ਏ.ਸਮੈਸਟਰ-ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਫਾਰਮ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਸ਼ਾ ਜੁੱਟ, ਦਾਖ਼ਲੇ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਕਾਊਂਸਲਿੰਗ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਭਰਨਗੇ । ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਅੰਗਰੇਜੀ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਦੇ ਲਾਜ਼ਮੀ ਵਿਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਹੇਠ ਲਿਖੇ ਗਰੁੱਪਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਹਰ ਗਰੁੱਪ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਸ਼ਾ ਚੁਣਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਕੋਈ ਤਿੰਨ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ਚੁਣੇਗਾ :-

ਬੀ.ਏ ਸਮੈਸਟਰ –ਪਹਿਲਾ (ਸਮੈਸਟਰ ਸਿਸਟਮ): ਅਜਿਹਾ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਕੂਲ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਬੋਰਡ ਤੋਂ +2 ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਖਿਆ ਜਾਂ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਮਾਨਤਾ –ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਪ੍ਰੀਖਿਆ ਪਾਸ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋਵੇ , ਬੀ.ਏ. ਸਮੈਸਟਰ –ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਦਾਖ਼ਲਾ ਲੈਣ ਯੋਗ ਹੈ ।

ਬੀ.ਏ ਸਮੈਸਟਰ –ਦੂਜਾ (ਸਮੈਸਟਰ ਸਿਸਟਮ): ਜਿਸ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਨੇ ਬੀ.ਏ. ਭਾਗ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਮੈਸਟਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਣਲੀ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕੁੱਲ ਪੇਪਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਘੱਟੋ ਘੱਟ 50% ਪੇਪਰ ਪਾਸ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਣ ।

ਬੀ.ਏ.ਭਾਗ –ਤੀਜਾ(ਸਮੈਸਟਰ ਸਿਸਟਮ): ਜਿਸ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਨੇ ਬੀ.ਏ. ਭਾਗ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਗ ਦੂਜਾ ਦੀ ਸਮੈਸਟਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਣਲੀ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕੁੱਲ ਪੇਪਰਾਂ (4 ਸਮੈਸਟਰਾਂ ) ਦੇ ਘੱਟੋ-ਘੱਟ 50%ਪੇਪਰ ਪਾਸ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਣ ।

ਨੋਟ :ਮੈਥੇਮੈਟਿਕਸ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਦਾ +2 ਵਿੱਚ ਗਣਿਤ ਦਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਾ ਪਾਸ ਹੋਣਾ ਲਾਜ਼ਮੀ ਹੈ ।
